I used the rear channels to supply the signal to my sub amp (channel in your case). That way I could adjust the level of the bass from my headunit. I set the gains on my 4-channel amp to adjust the rear speakers.
Now that I have a new sub amp with a remote bass control - I'll feed the sub amp signal from the pre-out of the 4-channel amp. This way I'll have more control than my existing setup.
Good choice in LOCs! I believe they are the best.

hey blksnake.. I went ahead and ordered the Navone 774V model you had recommended, it was on sale for $34.99 + 5 shipping.. supposed to be a nice piece and will allow me to use my aftermarket stuff.
Now next year I'll probably get an Alpine deck, once XM is integrated into their higher end units.
