Preparing for Audio Future Audio Setup... Need Confirmation

Not sure how soon I'll be getting my audio installed in my '06 Sedan, but I want to be prepared and have everything ready and calculate my costs ahead of time.

First off, I have the Bose package. Second, I want to keep it because of 1) the 6 disc changer and 2) I sold my Alpine W200 and don't want to spend money on additional head unit. Instead, I will be going with the Alpine PXE-650 or whatever the model is for their factory integration. I may consider the RF 3Sixty.2.

I pretty much have all my equipment. I'm going to run an Alpine PDX 1.1000 for the sub(s) and an Alpine PDX 4.150 for the fronts. My substage will either be a 10" TC Sounds prototype in approx 1 - 1.5 cu. ft sealed, or possibly IB, or either 1 or 2 12" TC Sounds underhung subs which are similar to the Audiomobile MASS 2012. I'm stuck here, because I don't know which sub to go with. The Underhungs off 1,000w sound great, but I'd prefer more output, so I might want to go IB with these to make up for the power they need (about 800w each) and 1k for IB would be more than enough for these. The 10" sub I had in 2.4 cubes sealed which is quite large for it but it sounded great and got louder than the pair of underhungs. I had 1k going to it and since it will be in a smaller enclosure I'll lose some low-end, which I really don't want to do, so I might do IB with this and the sub will take 1k for an IB setup without a problem, it will probably take about 2-3k in a normal setup.

So, onto the first question, for an IB setup, is there a lot of work required for the G35 sedan? How much work is involved?

Onto the second question. I have Zapco CK-16.2 components that I would really want to use. Had these in my previous setup and they are phenomenal. I really want to use these and will use them. Mounting depth on the mids is 2.87". In my Accord I had to cut the door to make them fit and use a 1.25" baffle as well. I was wondering what is the mounting depth for the front doors in the '06 sedan? Also, would kick panels be a better route?

Finally, the tweeter in the stock location seems to be angled down a little, is it really or is the plastic just facing down? Would the stock location be an ideal location or is there a better location to put them in?

My goal for this setup is NOT SPL and NOT to get insanely loud. I like SQ, but I like my bass and my low-end music. I also like actually hearing my music so clarity is a must, based off this, I'd appreciate any comments and/or suggestions. Thanks in advance for any input

I'm actually in the middle of an install on my 05 sedan w/Bose right now. You will need a spacer to be able to mount your speaker. Go on ebay and look up "G35 speaker spacer". I didn't have a ruler with me when I was working with the door, but with the spacer I think you will be able to clear 3 inch depth(aprox). There are tons of info here just sift through the audio section as much as possible before you start.

Yeah, when I mentioned the baffle I used for the Accord I was referring to the spacer. Unfortunately it was so thick since the Accord doors weren't deep that I had to cut the door panel (in addition to the door) and fabricate it. I don't want to do any cutting of the door or door panel with the G.

Thanks for the info! I need to look up some pics of the doors with the panels off to see how much deadening I'll be able to do. I went a little crazy with my Accord, just not on the doors, that will change this time.

You don't need to use a signal processor like the Alpine or Rockford Fosgate. you can't, but you don't have to. The Bose signal is already line level before it goes into the amp.

Does IB = isobaric? If so, I haven't seen anyone do those in a long time.

Get the speaker spacers for the front speakers, bot necessarily because of the mounting depth, but to spacer the front of the speaker out to the back of the plastic door panel cover.

I meant IB as in infinite baffle, where I would seal the front waves from the back waves and use the entire trunk as an enclosure. As for the processor, the reason why I am getting one is to have multiple bands of EQ and the ability to move my soundstage and align it. I like the way SQ installs sounds, but they are a tad flat with a lack of sub output, just not quite my personal preference, but I do like it to blend with the front stage.
