Someone Got the Navi LCD to play DVDs

I seen it many times on this forum about having the Navi play DVDs. Well, someone did a conversion which has both the Navi and DVD player. Here is the link:

Infiniti G35 Nav Mod for DVD/TV

Pestilence beat you to it by about 2-1/2 hours. Worth mentioning here, too, though. It looks like they're using an aftermarket DVD player, and hooking it into the second input for the video screen, something that's been mentioned here before.

IMO, the real trick is going to be getting the stock DVD drive to play DVD movies w/o having to add an aftermarket player. If I have to get an aftermarket DVD player, I figure I might as well get a little portable unit with it's own LCD screen, and leave the car alone.

Alex told me that there is some way to hack our factory nav. Or find the japanese unit, the japanese one plays dvd movies.

I forgot to ask you Alex, you know how I can get a japanese unit?
