AWESOME! Simply AWESOME!!! Thanks to you and joepaniolo, I think I have a good handle on installing my system at home. Just waiting for the door panel speaker swap DIY. What about dynamat or similar sound dampening material in the rear deck? Beneficial?

Also, judging from your username, i take it you are in NYC? How much do your services run if I end up in trouble with mine? Steak dinner? Free custom LED sidemarkers?

BTW, did you ever fix the alternator noise?

Re: PICS - Coupe Rear panels and BOSE 6x9 removal DIY

Afropuff,

If you need help man its FREE (dont you LOve that price!)
I'm not gonna charge anyone who wants to learn something, thats the problem with things now-a-days people just dont wanna lend a hand, when you know there will come a day when you need one.

Anyways just PM me man, Yes I'm in Queens so let me know what you want to do..if I can help I will.

Also If you are in the NYC/LI area.....I'm Also organizing a meet MAY 22nd- Sat....12:30PM for the local G boys/girls
So Pm me for details or goto the Northeast thread and look for "propose NYC/LI meet".

As far as Dynmat, I hear its always good...but I'm cool with the sound without it....Only issue is the mids a bit.
I'm gonna change the Cap on the Bose tweeters in the Doors, So I guess I have no choice but to do a Coupe Door panel removal DIY, I wouldn't leave you guys hangin like that.

I'm not buying speakers unless I have to, the Bose speakers handle pretty well, so I'm giving them a chance, Cause it sounds better now than B4 so I'll try the cap on the tweeter change and then make my decision.

And NO the whine is still there.....but hey I'm looking for knowledge on the cure for that one....I dont claim to know it all, but I want to.

NYC,

Don't stop the teaching.....you're good at it!
I have bookmarked your thread and will be referring it to other people who ask me about these kinds of installs. I have looked at it a half dozen times and it is so easy to understand, so again kudos.

I just installed a Stillen CAB intake and will be doing a DIY for that even though it will not nearly be as popular as the doubleDIN conversion DIY.

Get your work over to Matt at g-owners.com, watch your thread "hit" count skyrocket. This will be a classic DIY guide.

supsup,

try this link that was posted by someone else to figure out which wires go to the 6x9's.

Re: PICS - Coupe Rear panels and BOSE 6x9 removal DIY

I hope my response on the PM helped you ...it actually should have cured that problem...if not reference back to the "Adding amps and EQ to BOSE DIY"...
and in one of the pics, I have circled the white connector that has the wires to the 6X9's and the color codes for them are in the next post below that one (or above it I believe)..

Thanks Joe and everyone else..

Joe, I'm going to contact Matt at G-owner but do I just tell him where the tread is ?? or send the pics or???

Re: PICS - Coupe Rear panels and BOSE 6x9 removal DIY

You can either recreate your guide by cutting and pasting from your thread the text and inserting the pictures in an HTML format. He would rather you do that. I initially sent him my DIY in a .pdf file and attached the 40-something pictures into my email to him for him to create it. This took a couple hours he said.

So my next DIY guide, Matt wanted me to initially write the DIY guide in an HTML format.

EMail him at admin@g-owners.com and he can get you the program to write the HTML or if you have MS Frontpage, you can do it there too.

Thanks for providing the photo's on removing the rear seat. I have a question, what can you do if the long snap piece furthest on the top part of the panel breaks. I placed the panel back in and it isn't sliding but I just feel bad about it?
