As long as your consistent. it doesn't matter which is which.. just pick a color and make sure you use it on both ends

Yeah (again, what they said)... but in addition, the reason some wires are copper/silver is because they probably don't have color-coated insulation. If there are no markings on the rubber part of the wire, then the only thing you have to go by is the color of the wire itself. If both wires are silver or copper, then more than likely, one of the wires will have a black stripe or a white stripe down the side... or different color pattern, but usually a stripe will differentiate between the two. Like he said, it doesn't matter - just be consistent...... positive to positive and negative to negative and the world will continue to go 'round.... do something else, and we all blow up, so be careful.

Re: how to determine wut + or - is on speaker wire
but for some peace of mind, you can use a small AA battery to verify each speaker. I saw some guy do this in a shop. cuz you can't always just trust the guy in the assembly line.
you just breifly tapp the speaker wires to the + amd - of your AA battery and the speaker will either pop out or in
the important thing is to have all the speakers to be consistent. like wire A to + on battery always makes speaker pop out. so mark wire A as positive. and do this for all speakers.
