Plug-in replacement for Clarion OEM XM radio?
Plug-in replacement for Clarion OEM XM radio?
I have had 4 OEM XM radios in my 04 coupe since Feb, 2004, and all suffer from intermittentent cutting out. The radio works the next time you turn on the key. This is apparently a known problem (see posts on FA site) but I am not willing to wait until Clarion produces a fix. I want to have the dealer remove the XM unit and give me my money back, but only if there is an aftermarket replacement which plugs directly into the wiring harness, and operates throught the factory dash and steering wheel mounted control buttons already in the car. Does anyone know if such a unit is available?

There is no such thing available! Many of us are enduring the "LOADING" problem, and I hope that Infiniti comes up with a fix soon.

Re: Plug-in replacement for Clarion OEM XM radio?
Yeah the only plug in replacement that could work is something from Clarion, and all of Clarion's gear has a round DIN connector. The only decent alternative for XM is using the PAC AUX-IN kit with an IR controlled aftermarket XM kit to integrate with the steering wheel controls.
Or you could go with Sirius, as far as I know this is only with XM. My Sirius tuner works great, no troubles.
