Just a little teaser till I get better more and better pics. Car is dirty right now and I actually will finish painting my emblems. Turns out I just needed to let them dry a bit longer before painting over them.

Here's the ride sitting on Falken 245/35/20's all around and Tein Basic coilovers. The drop is significant. Barely enough room to get a finger in the front and impossible to a finger in the rear, maybe if an infant were to try to they might be able to. No rubbing thus far and I dont have the fear of going over bumps or potholes as I used to. I'm loving it so far.

I plan to do 10's in doors, 6.5's in kicks, and tweeter either in the a pillar or kicks as well.
OK!

Car looks very nice! Did you align the car also?

I need to rotate my tires and align my car! Any recommendations?

I didn't get alignment yet. I'll drive it for a few weeks and then get it done.

And yes, there is a shop that I will be going to in Laguna (Hills I think). The guy I spoke to is a member here, his name is Nick (username is Nickk6).

He told me $89 for the alignment and he uses a Hunter Hawk Eye imaging alignment system. His phone number is (949)768-1100. I know it's a bit of a drive, but I don't mind. I'd rather get it done right and spend the extra money on gas money. Maybe if there is a DIYMA meet at Autobacs in a month I can head to Laguna Tire first, lol.

Nothing really. Probably won't for a while. Working part time sucks as I have other priorities. Hopefully soon I'll get started on it again. As it is, I am selling the Zapco amps since I don't need them at the moment and I will end up getting them again once I start the build.

Expanding foam in the trunk can help, but the issue seems to be the contact between the spoiler and the trunk lid. How is the spoiler currently mounted? Your suggestion of using 3M double sided tape is what I was going to recommend. I don't know if there is a way, but if you can get open celled foam between the spoiler and trunk lid, it can help alot. I used that for my license plate with my Accord and rattles went away.

Another option is to call Ant from Second Skin. He can most definitely point you in the right direction. I've never had any experience with spoilers. Although they look sweet on many cars, I could never buy one myself because I know it just will create rattles, and I can't have a car without some audio, lol.

Noticed you're in San Marcos. I used to have a friend that lived there. I went a couple times and he worked on my Accord when I had it, but he ended up moving to Spokane, WA. Not sure where he's at now, but I found out a couple months ago he's on this forum, haha.

Haven't used it yet. It is indeed old, about 11 years old. I bought it brand new just a few months ago and it has no more than a minute of total playing time on my home theater amp. It's sitting in the original box in my room till I get a box built for it and the rest of my equipment ready. Reason why I decided to go with this is because they get pretty loud, sound good, very efficient, and don't need a large enclosure. I usually don't run mainstream stuff, but given those circumstances, I'll let it slide, lol. If it weren't this, I'd go with the Aura NS-15 or a prototype 10" sub I got that would easily take about 2 - 3k watts and still sound good and get very low. My main intention is to hit those low notes real well (around the 20's and low 30 Hz).

As for the 3M tape, I'd definitely try that. I think there are different kinds. I have seen double sided tape from walmart and home depot, but I also have some double sided foam tape (really thin). I got it from Pep Boys to use on my decals when I put them back on after painting them. Haven't done that yet, but it seems to be an open cell foam whereas the other was a closed cell. If one doesn't work, you could try the other.

I would say try the open cell, but then again you still might have the same issue. But if you go with closed cell, it can possible have the same effect but maybe it would work better, however there might be a slightly larger gap than the open cell foamed double sided tape. I think the adhesion from the standard double sided tape (not foam) might be a bit better so I'd try that first.

Hate to bump an old thread, but I got a question.

Don, did you only dynamat the trunk lid? How about around the spare tire area?

Wow, started this so long ago and sadly I haven't done anything, been more into performance mods.

I only did the trunk lid with Second Skin Damplifier Pro since I won it in a raffle on an audio forum. I do plan doing what I did with my previous car, which includes doing the entire trunk (walls, floor, quarter panels), C pillar, rear seat, doors, fenders, tire wells, and eventually the floor and roof. I'm not going to do the hood because it's really not necessary, unless the goal is to minimize road noise and rain, in which it would be worth it but that doesnt bug me.

so is it just as simple as it seems? measure, cut, and pull the adhesive off and it'll stick?

Yep, but some people need to use heat guns depending on the brand and material you get. Whatever you do, DO NOT buy asphalt based deadener. It will eventually peel and fall off, especially in heat, so stick with butyl.

I've used several different kinds of deadener and only two I'd go with would be Second Skin and Cascade, but I'd stick with SS, just cos I find it a bit more effective, though I don't recall the line I used from Cascade.
