Navigation control unit Harness

Do those harnesses exist in the non navi coupe with Bose audio? The harnesses behind the top glove box where the navi control unit would normally go. I've been looking at the wiring diagrams and it seems pretty easy to hook up my Garmin 750 to use the navigation audio prompts built into the car.

If the harnesses aren't there, I'll just go into the back of the head unit, but I'd prefer not to open up the center console because one of the pieces breaks easily.

Not sure what year your G is...
I don't know what is or is not behind the glove box for wiring but I have had my center console out and there are no extra/loose harnesses in there.
I also know that the Bose with Nav harness is different than the Bose without.
How do you connect a portable Garmin to a factory audio harness? Curious

I have an 07 coupe so we have different gen cars. The first gen Gs had the nav unit (dvd drive) in a separate box on top of the glove box.

The way I think you can wire a Garmin into a non-navi head unit:
The way the navigation interfaces with the HU is by 3 lines (DC signal line, audio prompt +, audio prompt -). The audio prompt is just the audio signal that says "turn right here" or "turn left here". According the the service manual, once the HU sees about a 10V signal on the DC signal line input, it turns to navi mode. Navi mode I'm assuming is the music muting and playing whatever is fed through the voice prompt + & -. I can probably just rig a sound sensing circuit which will detect sound coming from the garmin and output a DC voltage onto the HU. I'm 90% sure this will work. I think I'll just take apart the glove box to see.
Now also according the the service manual (and by common sense) the harness attached to the nav unit dvd drive is directly behind the top glove box. If that harness is still there I don't have to mess with taking out the HU.
