is this too much power to have without an capacitor? i dont want to stress my car's electrical system or shorten the life of any of its components. would run at 2ohms.

Really look and check them out. You can find a decent amp and sub combo for under $400 I'm sure. They do a lot of testing and give you recommendations on what to get also.

well i'm running a jl audio 500/5 amp and i've already had to replace my alternator and battery once.. but i'm not really sure if its due to the amp, wear and tear, my supercharger or everything put together lol

but since the replacement about 2 years ago.. its been perfectly fine

it all depends on how you're gonna wire the sub also 4,2 or 1 ohm.. and the amp your looking at is rated 300w, 600w and 1000w respectively...

my opinion.. anything over 500watts.. look into a deep cycle battery, 1+ farad cap and maybe even a high-output alternator just to be safe

second guessing myself, may go this route at 4ohms instead to save money and less amps pulled from the car battery

amp:http://www.partsexpress.com/pe/showd...number=267-123
sub:http://www.partsexpress.com/pe/showd...number=295-462

125+200= $325 total
