pin 15 (green) is a shield
pin 19 (LG - light green maybe?) is the ACC power lead.

Oh, i found this online. If you can't get that device to output an RGB signal or get a converter, it might just be easier to get this.

both of those routes are pretty interesting

I wonder how the aftermarket one looks in a vehicle?

That oem install would be so hot along with a double din nav.

Well basically, you need to have a device that can output RGB. If that device you have can only output composite video (just one RCA cable for video) then you'll need an video converter.

lol, not anymore. I dunno, check to see if your camp2 can output in RGB. RGB is like what analog computer monitors use (the 15pin blue cable). If not, you can get that monitor i linked to or you can try using a composite to RGB converter, if they make such a thing, I figure it'll be expensive.

Comp to rgb shouldn't be expensive I don't think...?
The 15-pin blue cable is a.k.a. VGA cable.

I'm surprised that it's actually that simple of a setup, I figured they'd have all kinds of crazy proprietary electronics loaded onto the LCD...

How much did OP spend on that nav screen?

FYI I had a Viewsonic N5 that would do this, an N4 would work too.
It is intended for home theater/geek people that want to convert a composite signal into a VGA output. i.e. so you can watch TV on your computer monitor. Comes with a little remote and lets you switch between video sources including a PC/component/TV/composite etc... search on eBay if you're interested, they are cheap as hell now, I see one for $45 buy-it-now, free shipping on eBay:
http://cgi.ebay.com/Viewsonic-NextVision-N4-Video-Processor-TV-Tuner-for-PC_W0QQitemZ320300375969QQcmdZViewItem?hash=item32 0300375969&_trkparms=72%3A570|39%3A1|66%3A2|65%3A1 2|240%3A1318&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14

There's probably something smaller and better suited to a car install. I couldn't find it if it's out there... But if all else fails the AC adapter on the N5 is 12v anyway, it would splice right in
An N4/5 would probably be pretty hack-tastic.
If you don't mind hacking open a VGA cable and soldering its wires to the nav pigtail, you could get RGB out of it.

...Electrically speaking I don't think it's possible to find a composite to component adapter. It would have to have some sort of processing capability to convert the "flattened" 2-wire signal into 6 (or 3 + ground or whatever).

Actually what you need now are the harnesses/pigtails that plug into that nav screen so you can have some wires to tie into once you get a signal figured out. If that HKS unit output in RGB/component, you'd be good to go. I misunderstood what the camp2 was originally, lol. That will be sick if/when you get it installed.

Have you already ruled out one of the units from avelectronic.com?
or tvandnav2go.com?
It looks like either of those would actually do what you're talking about here.

I believe they plug right into the LCD... you may have to match up wires and solder, that's about it...

Regardless, you need whatever wiring harness plugs into that LCD.

there you go, it's not too expensive. It looks like tvandnav2go.com has a prebuilt solution that you can work with. you won't even need the harness for them because they just have you splice into four wires, it looks like.
