Subwoofer (W7) not satisfying
I just got my G hooked up with my 12" W7 and 2000 watt Hifonics amp, and I'm very disappointed. I plan on upgrading my head unit and CD player, but the sub is no where near its potential at this point (not even close). In my previous car (an ML 320), i never changed out the CD player and the sub had PLENTY of power. Is the G's CD player low enough quality that the w7 really has this little power? I had a professional installation done by circuit city by someone very familiar with G35 installations.

Anyways, I would just adjust the gains if you are using a converter and hope it improves. I am not a fan of using those converters but it's understandable if you don't want to spend a bunch of money on a DIN stereo or any aftermarket stereo. If the coils were wired out of phase then the sub wouldn't move much and wouldn't sound like anything close to bass. More like a struggle to survive hum.
I am also not a big fan of those prowedge boxes. They usually tune them very high so it sounds somewhat loud but sound quality is very limited. They look nice but performance wise they are not close to good.

oh trust me i know, mine was setting up car alarms before and now I barely notice it... Ill take it in, even though CC might be bad, its not a hard install to get one sub hitting (or it shouldnt be). I've got the receipt and they do life time check up i guess, so it should work at the location down here (different than where install was done)
