Nav Programming Help

I don't know if you can do this with the Infiniti Nav, but I wanted to know...If I am in a area that I'm unfamiliar with and I want to look for the closest Outback Steakhouse, how do I get it to list the closest one to my location?

Sometimes the closest place I am looking for might be in a different city, so when I try to look up a place I usually leave the City to Any and just type in "Vons" or "Dennys" and it lists every single place in the State. I wanted to know how I could reorganize the list, so it shows the closest one to my location.

Re: Nav Programming Help

You can enter a city name to limit the number of hits.. but that still doesn't do what you want. I wish I could do that too.

The darn thing will let you find the closest restaurant, so we know the software's in there to do that trick... why can't it let you find the closest business by name? As far as I can tell, it's not possible. Maybe some future firmware update could fix the problem, but they probably won't allow the older cars to have it...

Another option is to type in "Restaurants" in the "Category" then when it asks for Cuisine type, type in "American...or Australian" then push "Nearby"...it'll list all nearby restaurants of the cuisine type. So if there's no Outback, at least there's another similar restaurant.

Re: Nav Programming Help

Yeah this is a bad limitation, I find myself frequently wanting to do that. "Where is the nearest Office Depot?" But I can only find restaurants and gas stations using the quick stop feature. Seems really stupid because it clearly can "Find nearest" and clearly has the list of Office Depots.

Maybe we should email Zenrin about it....
