4080/speaker

It seems like most if not alll here are using the 4080 setup with JL subwoofer. Is this box not compatible with other 10" Speakers? Next issue is anyone even checking the internal air volume required for the speakers they're using. I don't want to buy the JL due to price when they are other comparable subwoofers out there. I will only be sending 375 watts to whichever woofer I decide on.

The 4080 box works with the JL subs, except the w7. If you got with the w6, you will need more than 375 watts to it. If you go with a w3 or w0 you should be fine.

it works with plenty of other subs. just check out the mounting depth and volume and make sure it would work with the sub you have in mind. it is well known that JL's are decent subs but vastly overpriced. I am only running and 10w3 in mine because i got it for 50 bucks haha

Well thanks for the non-biased advice. I personally have nothing against JL, they make a great product but based on my set-up I have absolutely no need for expensive JL woofers, unless i can get it for $50 too

JL is just a really popular sub, but for some reason I like the original w6 and w3 better than the new versions. I'm currently running an Image Dynamics IDQ10v1 and I love it.
