Audio Question

Ok, so I got an 07 g35 coupe, and I will be doing a custom system. Now my understanding is that we have 6.5" speakers in the front, with the tweeters by the mirrors, 4" speakers in the rear panels, and 6x9" speakers in the rear deck. I will be getting the Pioneer AVIC-F90BT as my head unit, with Pioneer speakers all the way around to replace the stock stuff, along with a Rockford Fosqate 300 watt amp and a single 10" dual voice coil sub for the deeper tones. My question is on the install portion of it. The head unit I am getting is not a 6 channel unit, and I do not want to get a 6 channel amp to run the speakers. What is the best, and most cost efficient way to wire the speakers up? Do I just get rid of the 4" speakers and run the 6.5s and 6x9s along with the sub? Thanks guys. I did search but I was not able to find this specific topic covered.

One more question, for the 07 coupe, the AC controls still share the circuit board with the stock head unit, correct? There is no way to reuse the AC control with just a DD finisher?

The rear side speakers are 6.5, not 4 inch. The 6x9s are for bass only, and are only on the Bose equipped cars. You don't need a 6 channel amp.

With a sub, you don't need the 6x9s. You can run the front 6.5 components and rear side panel 6.5 coaxials. Some people only run front 6.5 components and a sub.

The 05-07 coupe AC controls are the same.

Touche on that. Turns out the shop I took it too though I had a Bose system when I specifically told them I did not. Thank you very much.

Even the non-Bose systems have 6.5 inch in the rear side panels.

Your best bet is probably to get 6.5" components up front and a sub. You can add in 6X9's in the rear deck if you want some more volume especially for any back seat passengers. I would recommend against putting anything in the rear side panels, because the speaker is mounted on a bracket, and has no baffle. No baffle means the front wave isn't isolated from the rear wave as it should be and therefore sounds like poo. Optionally you could cut a hole in the panel under it and fit the speaker in, but you'd probably be better off not to.

Also I would suggest starting off by running the front and any rear speakers off the HU and a getting a seperate sub amp. You can always pick up another 4 channel amp later if you want more volume/quality.
Cheers

Thanks for the advice guys, I'll be going with a set of 6.5" components in the front, 6.5" in the rear, and just wiring up my sub and amp like planned to the new head unit. Appreciate all the help.
