Navi problems with aftermarket HU? I need help plz!
I've been trying to get my system installed and since I want a custom job I've decided to take it to a local car stero shop. However it seems that the price of getting a custom install was a bit more than I expected plus the place that is installing the system says they keep running into problems... so here's all the issues i have...
1) The installer of the shop says that my navigation won't work if he installs my avh-p4000dvd (pioneer tv double din)
is this true that I'll lose my navigation? I told him to go through with the install as I didn't think that would effect my navigation as the circuit board for the nav is separate from the AC and factory head unit circuit board.
2) I was told that when running after market head unit and installing an amp and sub that I'll need to either replace the bose speakers or amp... not sure if that's true but I went a head and replaced the factory speakers...
3) the amp that I purchased is a 1000.1x mono kicker amp that will be pushing 1x 12" Kicker solo-baric L7 sub... will i need an extra battery for this? How much will it drain my battery if I don't put one in?
Below is a break down of my charges...
Premier - TSA702C 6.75 Components 160.00
Premier - TSA632P 6.5 Coax 80.00
Metra Double Din Dash Kit 110.00
1000W Amp Kit 70.00
In Dash TV Install Labor 50.00
Amp/Sub Install Labor 50.00
Install Components Labor 55.00
Install Coax Labor 45.00
Custom Trunk Install Plus Materials 550.00
PESWIP Steering Wheel Control 80.00
Stinger Battery/Mounting hardware(installed) 150.00
Can someone please let me know if you think I'm being ripped off or if this is at least a decent deal? This is my 1st time dealing with a custom system. The place that is installing my system is called Rolling Sound of Regency, INC. in Jacksonville, FL.
I would greatly appreciate any advice or comments...

your installer isn't totally informed...
the bose system CAN still be used if he uses the remote turn on wire in the 7550 harness (make sure he uses that harness otherwise system will be much quieter than before the new headunit went in)
but really the only thing that it looks like you're getting ripped on is speakers, and labour for the speakers. so that saved you $340.
plus those spkrs in my opinion aren't all that great.
