I'd suggest buying at least 17ft. that way you're safe. I only had to take off about a foot and a half to 2 feet of my 0 guage the way I routed mine.

string/ tape measure won't take into consideration the bend that the power may or may not be capable of. I ran 0 gauge and it definitely doesn't bend so nice
