Garmin installed
Garmin installed
I wanted to get the Nav system but I got such a great deal on my non-Nav G I couldn't refuse. I instead purchased the Garmin 2610 online for 600 and made this housing from fiberglass to fit in the center storage compartment. And... Viola !! Nav system for 650 including materials ! Granted not as functional as the actual factory system but it works great !

Re: Garmin installed
I think that is a pretty good install. Did you cut and shape the fiberglass surround / frame yourself? How long did this project take you? When you close the cover, does everything look just like the stock non-Nav console? Looks like a nice job.
Re: Garmin installed
That looks awesome.
Does the compartment still close?
If it does, I bet you could make a bundle using yours as a mold. I would buy one

Re: Garmin installed
this is a duplicate thread.... heh
In the other one he said that it doesnt close as-is, but the garmin unit AND the mold are both easily removable and then the cubby will close and look stock.
