Has Anyone hooked up the Pac audio unit that allows you to use the i-pod?? If so how is the sound quality?

 

Hey there,
The PAC unit is being released very shortly. There was a delay in the manufacturing of the part, but it is being resolved right now. I should be shipping out my customer orders very very soon.

The unit allows the connection of up to two devices (using standard RCA connections). It really doesn't matter whether it is iPod or not... It should sound perfect either way. It is basically a digital audio bridge for your headunit...

I have installed 6 or 7 now and they all sound great. Last one I installed was with the audio output on the firewire for the ipod and the volume was level with the cd player.

Was this the model you installed? If so, how long did you wait to receive it? According to their website a 90-day lead time is normal.

Hey all,
As I mentioned in a different post, I am an authorized Dension reseller as well. The Nissan IceLink is hopeless right now. Apperently they made the units some time ago and had nothing but issues with it. They stopped production a while ago and scrapped those plans from scratch.

I was told by a big player in the US office that Dension will need some time to re-do the entire project. In the meantime, he basically told me to forget about the Nissan adapter. Those who have purchased it in the past may have been lucky...

Otherwise, I would happily sell these units as well.... As of right now, don't expect a product anytime soon. They have frozen the project for now. There is absolutely no telling when or even if they will have one later.

I guess I'll start looking at building a carputer again...

Just got word that my PAC audio AAI-NIS has been shipped. Can't wait to get and install it. Hopefully it will be my answer for true auxillary input into the factory stereo.

 

Glad to hear it... We are shipping all orders already placed by Tuesday... The units are in and they look great!

Yes, it wil work with all iPods (the PAC AAi-NIS). All you really need is a RCA to stereo plug adapter and your good to go. Most of the customers so far have been doing the same thing (plugging in MP3 players).
