Custom G35 Coupe Stereo Install (Alpine & Infinity
Re: Custom G35 Coupe Stereo Install (Alpine & Infinity
Oh.. almost forgot, as for the plans, their in Visio 2003 (flowchart/diagram program) and I will send them to anyone who wants them. Just leave your email address on this post and I'll hook you up.
If for nothing else, you might just look it over to see the overall measurements, and fit in your own amps. The mounting scheme and measurements are just sweet, and about as big as you can get them. TRUST ME. The box is a 1.06 cu ft enclosure, but there's plent of room to widen it for more space (depends on your woofer). Let me know and I'll send it away.
Later,
Joe

That's hot! Speaking of heat... when you want to listen to music, do you have to take the amp covers off?

Nope. I leave the carpet over the amps and they never have a problem. It's pretty HOT in California too, and even on 100+ days they never seem to bark. I put the fans in just to help move air, but cut out the plexi to allow more heat to rise out of the box. I figure what the heck... more ways to cool the better.
So far so good, and I check them every now and then. Works out pretty well.

I am running 16 gauge. It's all Stinger wire, and the speaker wires are twisted pair silver and blue, sealed (not just wrapped) in a clear plastic cover. It's a pain to cut away and work with, but it's awesome wire. No complaints on 16 gauge. Even the woofers running on the 16 gauge.
