I am building a new system
Here is my plan I need imput (help)

Mids and Highs
Front doors ---- Focal 165 v2 6.5" comp.
Rear ---- Focal 165 ca 6.5 2 way
AMP for front and rear JL 300/4

Question 1 , Are the Focal 165 v2 a Good choice, Are they as good as mid level MBq or Boston looking in the $300 range ?????

Question 2 , Will a JL 300/4 Be a good choice for this set up

I Have 2 - JL 10" W6v2

Question 1 , Will a JL 500/1 be able to push 2-10W6v2 not for spl but just to have a good all around sql system

Will the focals fit with out to many mods?
And Last any guys in miami what to help install ill buy lot of

 

Looks good to me, but you'll just want to check the depth on your rear speakers as there isn't much room behind those rear panels. I have a template for the rear panel speakers - you'll just have to determine if the depth will be an issue, especially if they have a big magnet on the back (there is VERY little room back there for a magnet).

how much will that system roughly run you?

I have the Focal Components in my front doors on my sedan. The fit fine with no modifications. Also, they are the best speakers I have ever had in any of my cars. The mid bass these things can put out is astounding. you cant go wrong with the V2's. Those two speakers alone put out considerably more bass than the entire stock sedan system. Much cleaner too. I didnt use any rear speakers and I have the 11 inch V2 sub in my trunk, yet another speaker I cant say enough about. Good luck with your system.

Since there is no room in the rear can i just power the stock bose with my jl 300/4

 

Yes, you should be able to power the stock coaxials with the 300/4, but why would you want to. The crappy BLOSE will just interfere with the great frontstaging you'll have with the focals. I'd say just disconnect them and instead, biamp your focals for more control and power. A HU upgrade may also be a good idea if you got the $$$.

The HU is next i and going with a indash DvD player so thats done i just have to order the dash parts

 

Yeah - I agree - don't use the rear panel BOSE speakers - they really do BLOW/SUCK like a Ho, I tell ya! Get that new HU and rip it all out. You'll be glad you did.

most speakers will fit into the front door. it's the tweeter that may be a problem. but the focal 165 v2 will be okay. i think focal makes very good speaker, and should work well. but do remember that the v2 is not utopia or polyk which are their better speakers. i ended up going with boston acustics pro series for that reason.

i don't think replacing the rear speakers is necessary. it's a pain to do, and your choice is very limited due to the size. before i put in my system, many on the forum suggest that i keep them. i think my system sounds great (consider i have the bose HU), and the rear is only for filling... anyway, good luck.

There is not best way to go for speakers, period. You have to go down to a stereo shop and just run through your options on the boards. The only way to tell the difference between a Boston, Focal, and anything else is by listening to it yourself. Remember that everybody is different, everybody is looking for a different kind of sound, and pushing it with different amps. There is no standard, and hopefully (not likely) you'll find that you like the cheapest of the options best - for some reason, you always end up liking a more expensive option . . . Anyway, check the JL site for the subwoofer power specifications, they'll give you a breakdown of what each requires. Between the Boston Z's, Focal Utopias, Dyn's, and Diamonds, I chose the Utopias, the Dyn's and Boston Z's sounded dead because they are more power hungry, the Diamonds were a little to bright for me, after listening Utopias were the clear choice - I'm running utopias at all four corners powered by a JL 450/4, JL 10W7&500/1 - more than satisfied

 

id say dont run rear speakers. you dont need them...well, unless you have people in the back who are complaining. just let them have stockers, but turn them off when theres nobody else in the car.
