08 G35 and iPhone

I've seen a lot of post for older G35s but not an 08.

How does the iPhone work with the 08 model? Good, bad, had better? I know it can't sync contacts but does it get a charge from the car or do I still need a car charger? Any word on a fix for the iPhone contacts sync?

How bout navigation of the iPod features does it work well... playlists, sort by song artist album, etc.? Any pointers or "wish it did this" type suggestions?

Is the 09 any better in this department?

Thanks for the help gang

If you are talking about the iphone 3G, then you need an aftermarket iphone car charger to charge the phone. I tried connecting my gf's iphone 3g through the ipod connector and it would only let me use the mp3 player functions, it would not charge it. I have a 1st gen ipod touch connected to the car and all the functions/charging work fine. i can't say if the '09 will let you charge the iphone 3g. the 2 things i would've like have are playing videos through the ipod connector and displaying album artwork

Scosche has an accessory called the passPORT that plugs in between the iPhone 3G and the normal plug that will charge the 3G.

http://www.scosche.com/passport

I haven't used it because I just use my 1st gen iPhone for music in the car but maybe that will help out some other people on here.
