Jesus that thing is massive! Not that the picture on eBay is any different than mine but, I'll go take a picture of my setup here in a few. I bought the W6 on Crutchfield so I can hear it in my specific enclosure, and if I like it (or if I don't) I'll just pay the 7 bucks shipping to return the sub, and find it cheaper from elsewhere. Should be here Tuesday (10th) or Wednesday

JL's = fail!!!
Yes I will agree that they are great subs.... but for the price they go at?! Hellllllll noooooo!!!! You could use that money to get something even better and still have money left over for building yourself a custom box to volume match those 12's.
Look into Acoustic Elegance speakers. Specifically the AE12H's or the 10's if thats what youre after. They are FANTASTIC subs, no lie... do your research on audio forums and all those audiophiles will agree that they are top of the line subs that put out a great deal of SQ and SPL. And on top of that, they are on the competitive level with the JL W7's and at almost 1/2 the price!
Also you can look at Image Dynamics speakers (IDMAX's if youre looking for serious bass). They are a bit harder to find but def worth it. The guy who builds them used to build RE Audio's comp subs like the XXX's but ended up creating his own company (Image Dynamics) once RE was bought out by US Amps.
IMO its Acoustic Elegance ftw all day long...
gl with your build tho man... keep it posted on how it works out for ya

There's this sub.
http://www.soundsplinter.com/rli10_s...formation.html
I had the RL-p, but the 18". If you had room for the RL-p, approx 1 cu. ft. I'd get that, but it will require more power, I'd say bout 800-1,000w, although they are underrated and my 18 took 2,000w to one coil.

I like AE's Infinite Baffle subs. Heard a pair of 15's in an Accord coupe and wow, beautiful. You got your info wrong on IDMAX though. ID MAX was out before RE.
Here's the story. A guy named Scott worked at RE, left and created Fi.
The IDQ is a pretty good sub, I owned v1 or v2, can't remember, but the V3's are supposed to be a big improvement.

Actually wasn't SPL at all. You wouldn't believe how clean it sounded, one of the cleanest subs I've heard. Lots of it has to do with the enclosure. Also got pretty loud, doing around 137 dB on music at 32 Hz. Box was a lil on the small side (5 cubes sealed, shoulda been about 7 cubes sealed but I didn't have the room).
The RL-p is based off a TC9 motor (motor is the entire magnet portion) that comes from TC Sounds' (another company) TC9 sub. TC Sounds is no longer available but I hear they are coming back. They are currently Audiopulse, but prices have skyrocketed. Seems like the AudioPulse website is down, but if you go to www.partsexpress.com you'll find a few of their products, again, higher priced than what they used to sell for.
I never personally owned the RL-i, well I did, but had an issue with it so didn't use it, and got something else (was B-stock), but the RL-i 8's are very popular and known to work in very small enclosure spaces.
