Need help with settings (Focal and Memphis)

Hi,

I just recently had the following installed into my 2003 Coupe:

Focal 165KP
Focal 165CV
Memphis 16-MC3004

I need to know what all the settings mean. Audio gurus, your help is greatly appreciated:

For the 165KP:

Tweeter level adjustments- What do the numbers mean? I can choose -1 dB, -2 dB, and -4 dB or any combination of the three to get a max of -7 dB. Does this somply mean that at a specified volume, your tweeters will be playing at X decibels lower than your woofers?

Midrange level adjustment: What do mid-flat and mid-high mean? Can we follow their guide and set it to mid-high if the woofers are placed in the stock location?

For the Focal 165CV:

3 dB, 0 dB and +3dB- Do these mean the same as the above adjustments for the 165KP?

For Memphis 16-MC3004:

What should my crossovers be set at for the 165KP and the 165CV?

The main problem I am having is that there is very little to no bass coming from the 165CV. Does the fact that the magnet for the 165CV is adhered to the rear quarter panel have anything to do with it? My installer used the old 6.5" housing to mount the front and rear-qtr speakers. The fronts are fine, but in the rear, the magnet is touching the metal.

Thanks in advance for your help

Those setting for the tweeter is more like a volume control. Because tweeters are mount normally closer to your ear, you need to reduce the volume to match the mid.

For the midrange, if you set to mid-high, you might be missinig some mid range signal. What i would do is set to mid flat and cut the component at about 80-100hz using the amp.

I can't tell about the rear but if the magnet touch the metal of the body, that is not good. The magnet is what driving the speaker.
