I'm having the 2003 stereo unit problem where the screen blanks out and buttons do not work and the AC goes on auto AC blasting....

It seems specific to 2003 models, instead of guessing if it's the HU or circut board I'm looking to replace the whole thing...... I've found a decently price 2004 full stereo unit but I am unsure if I can just swap it in??

I could do double din but for 2003 DD is quite ugly and I'm looking to spend $1K plus for a decent nav unit.

yes and no..
there are different models for those 2 years..
some 2k3 don't fit other 2k3's, etc...

 

When you say fit, do you mean physically or it is not compatible?

Which lists 6 different kind of units for 2003 and 2 for 2004, I am not sure which ones are interchangeable however?
