bose stereo sounds muffled till volume goes up to 20?

my bose system sounds kinda muffled and low pitched at every level till about 19 or 20. at 19 or 20 it clears up, you hear more treble and the sound is alot nicer and if i go back down to say 15 or 16 it sounds fine. but when i start at a low volume it just sounds like a$$. i do have an amp and sub hook up with nothing attached yet but i really just think its the stereo. anybody concur?

I have the same issue. Disappointing that the Bose on my 01 Maxima blew doors on this system. Minor complaint though, love my car.

Found this issue as well. Usually I adjust the Bass from 5 to 4 then back to 5. That usually does the trick. But it's rather annoying to have to do this every time I start the car to have decent sounds.

i got the bose system as well and of coarse i notice very little treble which is what i hate, but i must tell you i never had an original cd play in that player, most of the stuff i have is 128kb/s mp3s converted to audio, so maybe an original cd sounds way better, i keep those cds in there incase i don't have my ipod with me which i run thru a tape adapter it isn't that bad i give it an 8/10 it sounds ok with a good EQ setting
