iPhone 3G Adapter Options
New to the site, and trying to find the best options available for hardwiring my iPhone 3G to my 2005 G35 Sedan 6MT factory Bose stereo with 6 CD changer and factory NAV. The ability to charge my phone and control the songs/volume through the steering wheel controls are important to me. The PAC AAI-NIS2 seems to be the most popular choice. I am just looking for some feedback from other users who have experience with the PAC or with other models.
Also, I found the awesome DIY at http://www.myg35mods.com/tutorials/ipod/index.html, which is for a 2005 Sedan MT. Does anyone know how the 6MT differs? Is there a DIY for my specific model?
Thanks in advance for any responses.

I will check it out. I just came across the PA11-NIS http://www.mp3carpros.com/product_in...products_id=69
This one appears to have all the options I want and says it is compatible with the 3G. Anyone have experience with the PA11-NIS?

I also just purchased the usa spec. Make sure who ever you buy it from is an authorized dealer. These guys offer it for $128 with free shipping and the new IPhone 3G cable. ipodcarpros.com I did find it slightly cheaper on ebay ($118) but usa spec does not warranty any purchases made from unauthorized dealers.

I've had it installed for a month now and am very happy with it. No it does not display song names on the radio just track times. I installed mine in the ashtray (6MT) so it covers up part of my HU display, but I have my Iphone display there instead. Everything else works as advertised including the steering wheel buttons.

I've got the PA11-NIS, in my 04 Maxima, and my 05 G35 Coupe, both with Bose with an iPhone 3G. It works great, and I can control the iPhone from the steering wheel. You can't see the song titles on the radio display though, but thats not a problem to me.
Only problem I've had was this high pitched noise coming from the speakers when the iPhone is connected and charging. I found out the problem was caused by the new 3G charging cable interfering with the Bose system. So I replaced the PA11-NIS 3G charging cable with the regular cable that is made for older iPhones and iPods, and added a Scosche Passport charging adapter. That took care of the high pitched noise in both cars.
Another thing is when you skip in between songs using the steering wheel controls, the unit will temporarily stop charging your iPhone 3G. After about 3 seconds it will resume charging and you will hear the 'connected/charging' chime and see the charging icon on your phone. No biggie.
I got both units on eBay for about $120. Search for PA11-NIS. The Scoshe Passport charging adapter is about $30 and is on eBay too.
