did you connect the blue yellow wire from the Kenwood?

yes i did, i followed the instructions as as precisely as possible. They were pretty straightforward, im thinking its either the unit that's defective or the red acc iginition wire is at fault.

if your deck turns on with the turn of the key then you've got the right wire and it's working properly
