2003 G35 Sedan stereo power wire, and good ground location
I have recently purchased a Avic-F500BT and like it a lot, but to be able to use all of the functions I need to connect it's cradle power cable to a source of constant power, and I also need to find a good location for a brake wire which as I understand it just needs to be grounded. Where can I find a spot for grounding in the car?
My problem is I need to know if I can get easy access to the stereo power wire or would it be best to try to run it to the battery?
It's a good enough GPS system for me, but without these wires connected I don't have access to all of the functions it has to offer.
I am hoping I don't have to take the dash apart other then maybe removing the panel below the steering column which seems to be an easy enough process.
I hope this makes sense.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for the reply.
I'm glade you told me that because I would have done that not knowing any better.
I'm a PC guy but a complete newb when it come to working on autos.
Would you be able to tell me where one of these brackets would be located so I know what I'm looking for?
Thanks

you COULD wire it to the battery but as stated its much easier to find a chassis ground
look behind the headunit for a solid metal
if you have a multimeter this would be a good place to put it to use
