I was just curious as to if alpine has made a connector that would enable the use of the audio controls on the steering wheel unit? I've looked around on the forums but have yet to come up with any units that allow full integration with stock audio controls. I am planning on the 2 din conversion and would like to have a head unit which I could use the stock audio controls with, or I probably will not do the conversion. All input is greatly appreciated!

If the alpine has an infrared remote, you can probably just get the PAC SWI-X which taps into the steering wheel controller and outputs infrared signals.

i have steering wheel controls for my eclipse head unit. just get the pac interface.

 

yes several have installed pac's SWI-X on the g35..... it works in just about every car... the only problem is you have to find a good/clear mounting spot of the infrared "eye" so that it points directly to your headunit's infrared receiver "eye".
