on the 2005 sedans.

Other then the obvious, if you can tune into it.

from the outside? none others that I know of aside from the fin. from the inside, you should have the "SAT" button on the radio (although I would not be surprised if the radio display looked different)

Mine doesn't have the SAT button, but I'm pretty sure it's wired for Satellite Radio if I wanted to add it. It seems like I read that 04-06's were all pre-wired for it. Not really sure which button you would have to push to tune to it. Maybe you could just cycle through the modes?

05s have the flat black puck (dead rat) roof antenna. You can order XM or Sirius modules from the dealer which are plug and play in the trunk.

03-04 can have a SAT button.

but in terms of 05-06 models. i dont think we have a button. I think in 05-06's if we did have SAT, the way to access it is to hit the radio button, let it go thru FM1, FM2, AM, and then SAT.

I tried that and i didn't have a SAT option with that and i dont have the antenna.

Sounds right. If it came from the factory with it there would be an antenna on the roof. You are pre-wired though so you could always add it if you were willing to spend $200-$300.

I think it comes with instructions, but if I remember right you run the wire up around the window trim and then stick the antenna to the roof. It probably has some double sided tape already attached. I know people have also put them in the rear deck and even in the trunk and had success, but it was probably with a smaller antenna than the factory one. There are also a couple people who have installed the fin from the newer models on the roof and wired it up. I think that option looks pretty good, but would be kind of a PITA.

I've also considered adding it to mine because I used to have XM in my previous car and liked it. Maybe I'll go for it if I run across a used one for cheap. There are too many other things I'd like to spend $300 right now.

I think they are either drilled to the roof or stick via heavy magnet.

What he said ^^, same in my 05. Used to have a remote Sirius receiver in the Maxima, and I love having the XM built in. Keeps the windshield clean.

My '06 is not pre-wired.

I tore my entire trunk apart looking for the sat cable to hook up my OEM Ipod adapter. Couldn't find it.

Now i have a useless Ipod adapter kit i paid $200 for.

If with an "06 could verify where their Sat cable is, i would appreciate it.

Hmm, that's odd. I could have sworn I read that all cars after a certain date (04 I think) were pre-wired.

I agree with you. I've seen it stated too. That's why i bought the kit without even checking.

Thing is, i can't find any '06 owners who have installed the OEM ipod kit. It seems as if it's mostly 03/04 owners and a few '05...all of which found the cable where it should be.

I'm waiting until someone with an '06 takes their trunk apart to check and see if they have the cable as well
