Requesting pictures please, I'm trying to decide which one to get. Since I have the stock navigation, I wonder what it'll look like with both screens. Seems like everyone who went aftermarket didn't have the stock navigation.

Is there an extra trim piece?

 

Yes. Its a JDM Double Din kit. You can purchase it from your local Infiniti dealership. They also sell a cheap Metrakit for the double din set up. I recommend spending the extra bucks for the JDM instead of the Metrakit. I attached some pictures.The first picture is the JDM and the second one is the Metrakit. The Metrakit has ugly *****.

 

how much would a reasonable jdm double din kit cost for an 05+?

 

JDM DD kit from eBay is about $360.
Metra kit - $180.

And I wouldn't say the Metra kit has ugly *****, because it doesn't have ***** just spongy grey buttons.

 

I meant did you add anything around the HU or is that how it comes? Usually there are gaps when installing an aftermarket HU.

 

Sorry. Theres no gap at all. And yes the Metra Kit does have ugly gray spongie buttons.

 

Does the stock navigation work? I want to do the same thing except just get the Alpine double din DVD player only and use my stock nav. I was wondering if my nav would still work?
