Pretty common. Dealer can replace or repair it. Otherwise you can go aftermarket with a double din kit.

I see a lot of threads with this issue. While I have yet to experience it yet, has anyone took matters into their own hands and just took the damn thing apart? I have done that to previous after market players I have owned and had some success. Granted the whole Bose HU is massive and overly complex you may do more damage than good. If I had this issue and was faced with either buying a double din or another Bose HU I would just as soon rip it apart just to see if it can be fixed. Considering I wouldn't have much to lose at that point. But that is just me.

My Mercedes C320 BOSE HU did the same thing, the CD was in there but it didn't recognize it. I pulled the HU out, popped the top cover off, took a small flat head screw driver and slid the CD out. Then re-inserted the CD and it recognized it again. Never had another problem. The CD players are a little flaky. Just need a little push in the right direction....

I would take it apart before replacing it.... But I am cheap and like to fix things and save money, ya know all that crazy stuff that most luxury car owners don't dare do....
