CD Player Quit Working

My girlfriends CD player quit working on her 03 G35 Coupe. When you hit the CD button it displays an ERROR. Anyone know what could be wrong?

This same thing happened to me. Sadly the sounds system's in are cars are not built very well. I have a 03 coupe too. You have a couple options. If ur car is still under warranty then the dealer will fix it. If not then you can get a whole new cd player put in buy the dealer. For me they quoted me $670. I said hell no! 2nd options is there is a guy here in the forums that you can send him your whole cd thing and he will fix it for like $200 bucks, but there is always the chance of it going bad again since they are not built very well. 3rd is what I did. Go aftermarket. There you have a huge vary and price for what you want. I went with a 7in touch screen in my car. The only thing with that is you have to buy a double din kit. With my screen and kit I got out for about $520. A lot better than the dealer and I have a touch screen now. Hope this helped and good luck bud.

She bought the extended warranty on it. Would that cover it?

Parts (exchange for refurbished head unit) & labour, yep. I got a bit of a deal from the service manager but still it should never top $600, more like $US500.
