retro fit dual climate control to non-prem package
retro fit dual climate control to non-prem package
Hi all, I'll soon have a 6mt without the prem package, and was wondering:
Assuming I do the Double DIN conversion, I'll get the new AC controller. If I just add the micro switch for the dual climate control will it work in a coupe that didn't originally come with the premium package or is there other hardware in addition to the controller? Has anyone tried this?
If it would work, the followup question is what part number do I order for the actual dual zone button and the micro switch to solder to the double DIN AC controller as I don't have parts to move from an original dual climate controller (because I don't have the premium package).
thanks
Dan

Re: retro fit dual climate control to non-prem package
I think someone else asked this question in the past. It s a good question. I think I remember the general consensus was that you wouldn't be able to get dual climate control in a coupe that came stock without DCC......I think it had to do something with the AC venting behind the dash being different.
On the other hand, if your G came with the DCC (which means the premium package), you can retrofit the Nissan Japan v35 ACC with the DCC button and solder/resolder the little green microswitch.
In summary, if you didn't have DCC to begin with, you can't get DCC by just switching the ACC buttons.
Is this right everyone?

Re: retro fit dual climate control to non-prem package
yeah, from the discussion earlier, pretty much since a different amount/temperature air must flow into each side, simply "enabling the button" won't work. The duct work is slightly different apparently.
And retrofitting the new duct work.... that's definately not worth the money, if it's even possible

Thanks, I did a search, but I guess I missed the earlier discussion. I was just wondering anyway.
Thanks for the response.

also.... the center display is different in DCC cars.... it has 2 temperate displays and not just 1
