BOSE HU VS. BASE HU: both have balanced outputs?

I saw the wiring diagram and it looks like the base HU has the power amp built into the HU, while the BOSE HU has balanced outputs.

Can anyone confirm that there are two different HU's? Perhaps verified by two different part numbers? I don't have access to the G shop manual. THx!

Well, the only thing i could come up with is that the premium system has RDS (where radio stations have text) while the standard system does NOT have RDS, so therefore perhaps they are slightly different.

Re: BOSE HU VS. BASE HU: both have balanced outputs?

We've hashed through this question on a couple other threads.

According to another poster; according to the shop manuals the expected electrical output for the Bose and non-Bose head units output connections are supposed to be identical. So, it seems very likely that "Balanced" inputs that the Bose amp expects are one in the same as the "Balanced" speaker-level output that the non-Premium Clarion head unit provides.

In other words, it seems the head units both output speaker level outputs and the Bose amp accepts speaker level inputs.

I believe they're balanced differential... Induces less noise from running those wires all the way to the rear of the car to the bose amp...
