Is it really all that bad? What is the modification I read somewhere here but can't seem to find, thats done to it? Thanks

Mine is fine. Not as nice looking as the JDM trim piece but much cheaper. Nobody has gotten in my car and said "OMG your air conditioning controls look like ****."
