anyone know what the effects would be of having a round ported box. Would it still sound right. I wanna do a custom fiberglass box for one of the rear corners of the trunk but I want to make it ported. I know with sealed boxes, the important factor is the internal air volume and for ported that's obviously important too. But would the irregular shape mess up the sound? Any experiences?

As long as your internal space is the right size, your ports are the right diameter and they are the right length you shouldn't have any problems. For 'optimal' bass reponse there is a forumla of h:w:l ratios, but I don't even remember it, I did it once and couldn't HEAR a difference and its a pain to build 'custom' boxes to sizes determined by ratios. Just remember to leave adequte space behind both the sub and the port.

Thats kinda funny you found it at Parts Express, I live about 15 minutes from there, great little place to buy all the cheap install accessories you will ever need, although I wouldn't recomend buying any of their products as they are all on the lower end. Where about in north jersey are you? I'm in Philly right now and might be in Newark sometime this weekend.

Yep, that sounds right. I wish I could get my car here, but its back in Ohio collecting some dust. I might try and make it up there, but it looks like I might be super busy at work Saturday. I guess I'll have to wait and see. You should go anyway, even with a stock car. You can see what can be done to these things and possibly get bitten by the mod bug!
