Viper Smartstart

I just read up on it.. It's pretty kool.. Does anyone have it and how does it work?? It's compatible with my alarm but I would have to pay $300 for the module.. Don't know if it's really worth it..

i don't think its worth it. The viper 5901 and 5902 both have a 1 mile range! Who parks their car 1 mile away??? I think its just a show off feature.

I can't imagine paying an annual fee to be able to start my vehicle with my IPhone. I agree with trunks, just a show off feature that won't be around for long.

I can see the point of a long range if you are far from your vehicle and need it to be warm or cool.

I had remote start in my old car and always used it.

the main two reasons where

My Kenwood 8120 takes about a min to get up and running and its nice to come to a cooled or warmed vehicle that is ready to go as soon as you get in

Um, what if you don't have cell or wifi reception? It won't work except by remote. If your car is in the basement of an office building, there is also a really good chance of it not working either.
