Well did the NAV to DVD conversion

First I want to say thanks to Vitaliy (VSOKOLOV) in NY. OWNER OF MOBILE ELECTRONICS OF NY

When he said the converter was small, it was small, nice, light, and compact. I received it on time as promised, and he was great @ assisting me with any questions I had. Basically like in this post:
https://g35driver.com/forums/showfla...&part=all&vc=1

I think I'm the second one that has used this type of converter. As with the first person that used it,G352nv, he also helped me out.

Well like he said previously you have to cut 4 wires
BLACK
WHITE
RED
PINK
And that's it just connect and you're done. Took me about 2 hours to complete everything.
I'll post some pics as soon as I d/l them from my digi cam

I am wondering....do you have to strip and soldier those 4 wires? Could you just use wire taps or crimps to connect those wires? Also, is it absolutely necessary to take apart the center console to do the install or could you do it from the backside of the NAV system?

you can use connectors but you will lose quality, and you never have to take center console out only glove box thats uses 4 scroos to hold it.

You actually have to cut the 4 wires then tie the other wire comming from the converter to it, you can solder it, but you can also use heat shrink wrap. You don't have to take out the center console, just the glove box which is 6 screws.

Re: Well did the NAV to DVD conversion

I knew I should have visited vsokolov before I left East Coast. Oh well. As soon as I figure out where to mount my X-Box/PS2/DVD player (one of them) I'll order a unit to be installed in my car. Anyone with recommendation for installer in SoCal?

btw: vsokolov, the FM module you mentioned, is it hardwired to the radio antenna input or wireless? I might do the FM if it's hardwired... even though the PAC will probably be worth the money.

Re: Well did the NAV to DVD conversion

Why don't you install it yourself? It's pretty easy, took me around 2 hours to completely finish. I put a PS2 in my ride, just got to be a little creative. Have fun!!

Re: Well did the NAV to DVD conversion

1027, where did you mount your PS2? I am pretty sure the 4 solders would be alright to do, but I wouldn't know where to mount and encase the PS2 in the car and run all the wires to the NAV.
