Lines in my AV Electronic picture
I installed an AV Electronic tuner yesterday, and so far it's been acting up a little. The picture looks ok, but i see lines running in the screen..... they're faint, but they're there. Could this be a problem with the sync wire?
Also, can i not bother installing the red button and just use the remote control to turn the unit on/off instead? it seems to work so far.

You can use the remote to turn it on and off but the red button is way easier to get to when a cop pulls up next to you.

Russ where did you mount your button? or did you just use one of your switches in the ashtray?
Can anybody else weigh in on the lines appearing in my picture?
g35driver05,
yea i did it myself... it's not TOO difficult, you just have to be ok with ripping apart the interior AND taking cutters to one of the wires coming from the navi unit. the install itself is pretty straightforward... 4 wires just plug inline to the navi screen and the 5th is spliced into that one you have to cut from the unit... then you just splice power off the 12V power outlet conveniently located about 6 inches away and you're GTG. the unit fits perfectly inside the trim panel by the passenger's right foot.
what WAS a real pain was installing the PAC audio interface... getting to the wiring at the back of the radio involves removing about a half dozen interior panels and a bunch of screws (careful not to scratch anything, i put a gouge in my instrument cluster with the Bose unit)

It's in the cupholders next to the e-brake. It's actually where you're supposed to put change on the side closest to the driver.

Re: Lines in my AV Electronic picture
ok well i think i have narrowed down my problem a little bit....
my picture in navigation mode is fine, so i can't see it being a problem with my sync wire splice or any of the other video wiring.
so, i was thinking, maybe i'm having grounding problems with the unit itself. those that have installed the unit, where did you ground it and is some type of filter/isolator required on the ground wire to filter out this junk on my screen?
thanks guys

Re: Lines in my AV Electronic picture
on second thought, i don't think it's the power inverter.....
the power interter was only added after i started using the PS2, but the lines were there before that.
i bought an automotive noise filter at radio shack and i'll install that and see if it fixes the problem
