Nav newbie ? Please help
Nav newbie ? Please help
I've searched for this and haven't found much.
If I'm driving and want to find the nearest Blockbuster, will the system do this for me? Last night I was trying to do this and it kept giving me a list of all the Blockbusters in Texas. Is this nav uni this stupid, or do I have a setting that is incorrect?
I"ve seen the "nearby" button and tried to use it. But it seems that is only useful to find the nearest "category". Am I correct in that assumption?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Yes, this is a very annoying aspect to the stock navigation system. It only does nearby for categories. You can narrow the search down by setting a city. At least then it will give you all of the Blockbusters in your city, not the state.

You choose the city each time, but you don't have to enter "Austin" in every time-- just go to Last 5 Cities and choose your own. If you're in a pretty large metropolitan area and don't leave, I'd think that would be a pain, but then again I'd think you know where you're going, heh. I live in Henderson, NV, but travel to Green Valley, Summerlin, Las Vegas, etc. throughout the day, so I'm happy it doesn't default.
Regardless- put in Austin (or suburb, if applicable), and look at the street addresses. Most are on major thoroughfares, which you probably know, and if you know anything about the city, the street addresses will make sense and you can visualize it. If you're really, really bad with maps or are directionally challenged, though, this can be a pain.
