installing a double din and have some questions

i am about to be installing a double din into my 04 sedan in about a week. i have a couple quesitons though...

1. what is the peice that i need to keep the steering wheel buttons functionable? (searched and couldnt find it)

2. does the metra kit keep the dual controls? i saw that someone was saying that you would have to do some saudering (sp) on one of the kits to keep it but i dont know which kit it was.

3. i take it i am going to have to go to best buy and get the wire adaptor for the back of the head unit into the factory wiring like you do with all aftermarket units?

4. since i am installing just a head unit and not door speakers, will my boss amp that powers the doors still be working with this aftermarket head unit?

5. i saw something about needing a metra wireing adapter also. what is that?

6. will i need a metra antena adapter also? wouldnt the antena just plug into the back of the deck like every other car? or is it talking about something different?

0. Search

1. PAC SWI-??? where ??? relates to your brand - Pioneer is SWI-PS, Kenwood is SWI-JACK...

2. Yes

3. Don't support best buy for car audio. Order online or go to a real car audio place. You have a Bose headunit so you need the Metra 70-7551 harness.

4. Yes

5. See #3

6. Yes. No. It converts the nissan 2-prong style to the "universal" motorola style

Red circle - rear channels
green circle - front channels
blue circle - connects to the harness that plugged into the back of the factory deck
yellow circle - gets soldered/crimped to the equivalent wire from the harness that plugs into the back of your new stereo, that comes with your new stereo.

The antenna adapter you're after is the Metra 40-NI10.

And some decks are very quiet when outputting to the factory bose amp through the 70-7551.
You may need a PAC ROEM-NIS2 to correct that.
