Question for audio buffs

I hate asking these questions just as much as some of you have reading them, but I've had an issue for quite some time and I'm not really sure how to solve it. My audio (when playing casette or CD) only plays out of my driver-side speaker, and it's really annoying. I've got it down to that fact that it's the head unit at this point, but my whole life is music so I need to fix this.

So I have two options, the way I see it. Buy another Bose head unit or go with an aftermarket.

The price for a new Bose unit is RIDICULOUS, I asked the Riverside guys and it costs more than a double din, so I'm not doing that. And I'd be kinda scared to buy a used one since I wouldn't know before buying it if it's having the same problem as mine.

I would like to go aftermarket and I wouldn't mind spending the money, but I'm pretty sure I would have to buy a kit and all this garbage that will end up being a ton of money.

I'm looking for recommendations, please if you have any.

Matt

So you're looking for recommendations on to go DD or stock?

DD

If you're looking for headunits to replace it with if nav isn't important, the Pioneer AVH4200DVD is very good. If you want nav in it too, the Pioneer AVIC Z110BT is insanely awesome. ~$900 before any rebate.

If you need to know what parts to buy with your DD, check out my shopping list post.

^+1 Definitely DD.

also, take a look at the newer model headunits like the Kenwood DNX 9960 with 3D Garmin Nav & Parrot Bluetooth or Pioneers' new AVID X920BT with built in Pandora link to streaming music on the go...sure, they aren't cheap- but what head unit is? these two are the best upgrade DD's at this time, IMO.

I couldn't bring myself to look at the DNX9960 when I saw that it had the same lame voice control of the 9140.

Kenwood's got the better nav, but I use iPod a lot more, so I'll take better music interface over a slightly better navigation.

Plus the 9960 is nearly double the price of the Z110BT or X920BT.
