Sub Question
Sub Question
I am building my audio system now. I have a JL 500/1 for my subs.
I am leaning toward a 10" JLw6v2, but the question is... Which would be better? 1 JLw6v2 with 500 watts, or 2 10" JLw6v2 with 250 watts each.
I am leaning toward just the one sub. It will save me some money, and save me some trunk space. Sure, the 2 subs will have combined more surface area and will probably be louder... But they are running on half the power. Any insight or suggestions?
Thanks,
James

The 12 will produce a bit lower of tones, while the 10's will be a bit tighter. But the 10's will be moving more air (combined). If you want to upgrade the amp the 10's would take quite a bit more. You can give the 12's or the 10's easily 600 watts rms without voiding the warranty. I have just one 12w6v2, it is more than enough sub to really rattle the cr@p out of the whole car, even with dynomatt in the trunk.
For the money the 12 is probably the better sounding sub. Just my 2 cents.

I have 2 12" audiomobile mass subs that sound much better than most 10s.
it depends on the box and the sub.
