i didnt have time to hardwire it yet. the power and the av input are on the bottom of the unit so thats where some mods are gonna have to come in. the cubby can still be closed once you remove the unit which i like so it can be hidden away when i dont need to use it

can you post a link to where you got it from? or the model of the unit. I hope the cubby hole is the same size on the 03's as the 06's

I use a garmin 265wt. it fits in a strange way into that hole, setups slightly annoying every time i start tho. its smaller but its snug in its own way. I can't hardwire it because i want to keep the cable/antenna (for traffic updates) out in the open, but when/if i have time i might figure out something for it. i'd take a picture but my G is in cali and i'm in illinois for a while

Hey bruss2010, after reading your post I just went and picked up the same thing, i got them to pricematch to $199.
It fits perfectly into the spot above the stereo, tight too. But what do you do about the charger cord, it won't fit in with the charger cord plugged in. Did you find a way to make it fit, or do you just charge it and then stick it in? It only has up to a 3 hour battery life, and I can't charge it in the vehicle when the car is turned off or it would be fine.
Let me know what you did, It's a really nice GPS, and the A/V input is nice, but it's no good if I can't have it running on power.

I have tried several brands of GPS and Garmin seems to have the best GUI and Routing software. Some of the routes that Magellan and Tom Tom picked were just goofy.

For my Ham radio and Moto Bluetooth, I drilled a small hole in the side of the pocket. Ran the cords under the dash and hard wired. If you don't want to cut off the plug, get a socket from Rat Shack and wire that. Just tape up the plug and socket so they don't rattle loose.

Hi
This is exactly what I have been thinking to do as well. I am hoping to use this 7 inch GPS unit from Magellan and also use their wireless backup camera. Can you please let me know how is the GPS screen being held in the cubby? Are you using suction cup or some other hook or it just sits there tightly on its own?
