My Navi Has Amnesia!

So I hop in the G35 this morning - I've been out of town so it's the first time in a little over two weeks. I pop up the navi and after flipping through some screens for no particular reason I realize that it's lost some of it's data. Specifically it no longer has any trip computer data and the maintenance screen thinks that I've driven a total of 0 miles! Almost like what happens when you disconnect the battery for a little while - almost. My addresses are still in tact and the averge mpg and miles until empty are still present.

Does anybody know how the navi keeps this info around - I would think that it draws from the car battery but maybe not. Any other thoughts/ideas?

Also, anybody know how to reset the maintenance screens mileage to match the odometer? I would have thought that this was tied to the cars odometer but apparently not.

Thanks.

Do you have kids, or anyone else who might have driven the G while you were out, then reset said data so you don't notice?

Re: My Navi Has Amnesia!

Hey bro, I've had 2 navis now : one on my previous Sedan and one now on my Coupe. The odd time it has a 'brain fart' and does something strange but by and large mine have worked flawlessly. I have disconnected my battery on occasion for different reasons and have only noticed the current MPG's reset to ****. As far as I know all other data was retained.
The Maintenance log isn't tied to the odometer, you just reset it on your own schedule to the distance you choose.
Most of the functions are maintained by your Navi , so what happened to yours this time is strange.
I would think it had a momentary lapse and has already straightened out it's act. If not, you'll have to pay a visit to the dealership. Good luck..........
