Any Solution to Check Disc?
Any Solution to Check Disc?
my bose cd player just started acting up this morning and it says check disc no matter what cd i put in. Is there an solution besides replacement beacasue my bumper-to-bumper warrenty ended last month.
That short out of warranty, a dealer may be willing to take care of it.
Worth a try.
Otherwise, punching it is the only solution besides spending about $250 for repair, or you can get a cheap replacements aftermarkets with double din starting at about $300.

I recommend aftermarket wholeheartedly, but to give recommendations we need to know budget and features you're after.
Very basic replacement with a Metra kit can be accomplished for about $300, all the way up to $1500 for JDM kit and a new top-of-the-line unit.

http://www.radiomedics.com/ does the repair, I believe the average is about $250.
The problem is though, you'll still have a unit that's prone to failure in multiple areas, even if they do fix one of them.

i looked at the metra kits and i don't like the way it looks, is there any kit that has the stock look. all i need is mp3 player and am/fm radio (stock features). Just something reliable, even if i have to pay more it.

JDM is the only way to go with 05-07s.
When you say stock features, are you consider AM/FM/MP3-CD, or are you needing the bluetooth as well?
For "stock" features (minus the 6-disc changer) there's this Pioneer U310BT, about the cheapest way to get basic navigation, bluetooth, iPod, touchscreen, detachable face, and the unit itself is actually very responsive. Worst thing about it is the small number of POIs. (Expandable via SD card)
If you want something a bit nicer, but without any bluetooth capability or navigation, the Sony XAV-60 isn't too bad at .
If you can be more specific on features and budget, I and others can be a lot more helpful.

i found a jdm double din.
it must have am/fm, mp3-cd and bluetooth. dvd and navigon i dont much care for. Will i be able to use the steering controls and bluetooth sepeaer with the new HU. Pioneer U310BTlooks nice i might see if a local dealer has it to try out. Budget wise i really don't have a set number but i want spend as less as possible without sacrificing features and quality.

Best buy used to carry the U310BT, so you can push do a quick test of it.
You'll need the PAC SWI-PS to retain steering wheel functions with any Pioneer headunit.
Again, your real budget helps.
Features are subjective as is quality. You're almost always going to sacrifice features and quality for price.
For some, voice control of iPod is required (like me), some can't stand flip-face, some demand a physical volume ****...
But in all honesty, after I'd had my wife's F90BT ($650) in the car for a few months and been happy with it, and seeing how snappy the responsiveness was, how nearly-instant-on it was and "adequate" the U310BT was, I think she would have been just as happy with it 90% of the time, plus detachable faces are always good to have when you have to park on the street.

I recieved the same message.. The only thing that came to mind was Aftermarket !!! lol So i ordered JDM DD kit and waiting for that .. Will more than likely get a Kenwood player..
Kenwood's great for navigation, but I don't like the rest of the interface.
