06 JDM 350GT (Non Premium) - Attaching auxillary audio inputs for mp3

Hi

I live in New Zealand and I own a Japanese import 2006 Skyline350GT Sports Edition (No Navigation/Nav Screen)

I was wondering how difficult it is to attach an external audio device to the factory stereo. I noticed it has a "DISP" input button, so I was wondering if it's possible to run some cables and hook up an external audio player, so I can have mp3 playback while retaining the nissan factory stereo.

Here's a pictorial explanation.

If It's not possible what other options do I have for adding mp3 audio support to my car.

EDIT: I dont have SAT radio button, also adding the line in audio instead of minidisc would be fine as well =)

Thanks
Kiwi

PS. You may also notice that my car has minidisc.

I'm really not keen on going the route of an FM transmitter, because I have heard that the audio quality is terrible

Hello mate,

You can get a wired FM transmitter that has much better sound quality than the wireless ones. I know the deck has an input for a external CD-Changer at the back and there are sellers on TradeMe that sell aux plugs that fit into this for other Nissan models. Could be worth a try as they're only a couple of dollars.

I tried a few options with my factory unit but eventually went for a double DIN setup. Ordered the parts through Nissan and cost me about NZ$1000 last year. I used the parts number shown on this site for the double DIN components. Everythings fits pefectly and I now have DVD, TV and Nav that looks factory.
