IPOD Won't Charge

I have the IPOD adapter in my 2008 G35 Sport Sedan and it works fine except my second generation IPOD Touch will not charge while connected. Has anyone had this problem and fixed it?

I read somewhere that apple changed the voltage needed to charge iPods and iPhones from 12v to 5v.. You might have to just buy a newer released cable..

I know the USA spec iPod adapter need the new cable to charge the newer gen iPods and iphones

Think you have the same problem as me.

Hold down the MENU button with the center button at the same time for 10 seconds. Then the screen will turn black with the APPLE icon on it. Then push the MENU button once and it should charge within 5 minutes.

If you are connecting an "ipod adapter" cable to your phone for charging, i.e. not the one that came with your touch, and it sends audio but doesn't charge, chances are it's an older pinned cable. Apple changed the pin order on iphone 3g+ and touch gen 2. Look for the Scoche adapter at your local target, walmart, etc. It's about $30 if i remember and is just a little dongle you plug the cable into and then it goes into your touch. Had to get one for my iphone and the nissan ipod adapter in order for the phone to charge.

Hi There, Here is what you need:
Amazon Amazon

I had the same issue and this solved the problem. Apple made some changes to the charging wiring and charging ports that were produced prior to this change will not charge. I purchased this item for my Ipod and it works perfectly and charges perfectly.
