What is the PERMANENT solution to the radio/ climate problem?

Ive read all the possibilities for fixing the stock radio issue but i want to know what is the permanent solution to this. I dont think replacing the OEM with another OEM is a good idea because it just sounds like all the OEM stereo systems are trash. I do see that the JDM double din climate control seems to be the best resolution however does it HAVE to be the jdm climate control DD? what if i just replaced the OEM stereo system with an aftermarket one and kept the climate controls the same? Or will that not work because the current climate control board is fried. Btw the car is out of warranty.

Btw the issue im talking about is the one where the radio doesnt work and the car is set on auto A/C.

No, you can't keep your original A/C controls.

Permanent Fix = aftermarket: https://g35driver.com/forums/audio-v...urce-list.html

So I have to:

1) replace current climate controls with JDM DD kit
2) buy a new aftermarket stereo

is this correct?

JDM or Metra DD kit, but JDM looks a lot better.

Otherwise, yes, that's correct.

Check the above linked shopping list for the complete parts list.

You're not the first, and you won't be the last. That's why I still occasionally come to this board.

You rock Wrathernaut! The only question I have is which color dash kit to purchase. I have a 2003 with tan interior...I have seen some kits that say "tan" but it is hard to tell if it is the correct color. Do you have any advice?

Do the dash kits come with coordinating compartment door at the top or are you supposed to use the factory one?
